Being prepared
Still today, “Sudden Infant Death” is an unforeseeable occurrence. 80% of the affected infants are entirely healthy beforehand. Only 20% are from so-called risk groups (former premature births or babies already suffering from life-threatening conditions or with a «Sudden Infant Death» among close relatives). Only a prompt alarm in the event of irregularities provides the chance to apply life-saving measures within the shortest possible time. Such measures should be learned beforehand in special courses.
Safety first
The respiration rate is permanently monitored by a body sensor. The SISS BABYCONTROL monitor can distinguish extended respiratory intervals from regular breathing and triggers an alarm when a critical value is reached.

Comfy®, positioning nest
Innovative positioning aids in four different sizes. They stabilize, are very soft, extremely hygienic and support the infant’s neurophysiological maturation through appropriate body orientation. While supportive positioning in prone, supine and side-lying positions promotes musculoskeletal development, it also conveys a sense of security and comfort.
The specially designed head and foot pieces can be individually adjusted, with stabilization facilitated by snap fasteners. This frees NICU nurses from the need to use makeshift solutions that consume a lot of time and effort. This product has been developed in collaboration with the University Hospital Tübingen as well. The work of the neonatal ward is oriented to the development-promoting and individualized training programmes of the NIDCAP whose pioneering guidelines have been adopted. Our prone positioning cushions support the infant in a position that is oriented towards the body’s centre line and promote a better balance between the flexor and extensor muscles. The cushion is shaped to support the natural curvature of the shoulders, hand-mouth coordination and optimum alignment of the head and body. The little patients thus achieve a relaxed, flexed position without exerting too much pressure on the knees and elbows. Cut-outs on either side of the prone-positioning cushion allow the baby’s bent arms to rest. The support provided to the pelvis makes it easier to pull up the legs.
Clothing for preterm babies
The Preemie clothing collection combines an array of practical and functional details specifically developed for preterm babies. With no inseams causing discomfort, our preemie clothes are gentle on the tiny patients’ skin and avoid pressure points. A fine cotton/microfibre mix makes every piece of clothing pleasantly soft, breathable, and highly wear resistant. Additionally, our bodysuits feature an antimicrobial effect permanently integrated into the textile fibre that has been certified as absolutely skin compatible.
As smooth as a second skin and comfortable to get into, our bodysuits and rompers support the minimum handling approach to daily NICU care – thus minimising stress when turning the infant and changing diapers. A side opening facilitates the attachment of measurement instruments and medical supply tubing.
